Mukim Paloh, Kluang District

A Green Belt of Agriculture, Community & Growth

Mukim Paloh is one of the eight official sub-districts (mukims) in Kluang District, Johor. It is well known for its fertile agricultural land, FELDA settlements, peaceful villages, and strong community values. Strategically located between Kluang Town, Segamat, and Labis, Paloh also holds political significance as a Johor state constituency (DUN N26 Paloh).

Formation & Historical Background

  • Mukim Paloh was established during the late British colonial era, initially as a forested and river-based inland settlement.
  • As part of Malaysia’s rural resettlement and poverty eradication initiatives, several FELDA schemes were developed in the 1970s–1980s, such as FELDA Ulu Belitong and FELDA Bukit Tongkat, allowing thousands of settlers to build homes and livelihoods here.
  • The area grew with plantation-based economies, mosques, schools, and community centers, forming a self-reliant kampung society.
  • Over time, Paloh town emerged as a local hub for education, healthcare, and public services.
