Malaysia aims for a stronger grid to support AI, data centers, and carbon reduction goals

On 16 June 2025, at the Energy Asia conference, Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim announced that Tenaga Nasional Berhad (TNB), the state power utility, will invest around 43 billion ringgit (~$10.1 billion) to upgrade the national electricity grid.
